START WITH AI · 4 MIN READ
Your first useful conversation with AI.
You don’t need the perfect prompt. Start with something small you already need to do: organize a busy week, understand an unfamiliar concept, or improve a draft.
1. Choose a small, real task
Instead of asking “What can you do?”, choose a specific goal. For example: “Help me plan five simple dinners for this week.” A small task makes it easier to judge whether the answer is useful.
2. Add the context that matters
Explain your situation, constraints and preferred format. You might add the time you have, what you already know, or who the result is for. Avoid sharing private or sensitive information.
3. Treat the first answer as a draft
Read the answer and tell the tool what to change. “Make this shorter”, “Use a familiar example”, or “Ask me what you need to know first” can be more useful than restarting from scratch.
4. Check before you use it
AI can produce convincing mistakes. Verify facts against reliable sources and review anything you plan to send, publish or act on. Keep important decisions in your own hands.

A useful instruction has a task, relevant context and a clear idea of the output. Then you refine it together.
